Procesamiento Predictivo
En neurociencias, este concepto se utiliza para hacer referencia a un modelo de funcionamiento del cerebro. Propone que el sistema nervioso estaría constantemente desarrollando y actualizando modelos predictivos que operarían como los fundamentos de la cognición.
En este modelo, las señales de error son particularmente relevantes y -por lo tanto- muy salientes, dado que entregan una cantidad de información muy superior a las señales esperadas (en base al modelo de la información de Shannon).
En el cerebro, este sistema se ve implementado principalmente por el sistema dopaminérgico.
